Travertine slabs from Turkish quarries
Slabs are cut from quarry blocks on gangsaws and supplied in 2 cm or 3 cm thickness, typically 260–300 cm long by 160–190 cm high depending on the block. They are the format to specify when you want to control the layout yourself — bookmatched wall panels, continuous floors, worktops and stair treads all start from slab.
Ask for the cut first. Vein cut gives straight linear grain that suits contemporary cladding; cross cut gives the cloudy, open figure most people picture as travertine. Both are available in classic, noce, silver and scabas from our partner plants in Denizli, Uşak and Afyon.
Slabs are sold by the square metre, bundled in wooden A-frames or crates. When you compare offers, check three things: whether the holes are filled or unfilled, whether the surface is honed or polished, and whether the price includes resin backing — mesh or resin backing adds cost but reduces breakage on 2 cm material in transit.
Selecting and shipping slabs
Because every block is different, slab orders are approved against real material rather than a catalogue photo. We can send bundle photographs of the exact lot reserved for you, and for larger projects a physical inspection or third-party report can be arranged before loading.
A 20ft container takes roughly 25 tonnes of slab, which is around 380–420 m² in 2 cm or 260–290 m² in 3 cm. Tell us the total area, the thickness and whether you need bookmatched sequencing, and we will confirm what fits, what it costs and how long production takes.
